How-to-protect-your-Privacy-on-Android-Phone.jpg

Hi steemians, today am making a short post about android security and privacy which has become a big concern due to the hight rate of surveillance. In this digital era privacy is a priority and once you loose it you realize you've lost an extreemly valuable thing.
This is a short shallow guide on privacy, hope you all enjoy!!

LOCK SCREEN

This is the first line of defense as it prevent access of by unauthorized people (unskilled criminals or
curious spouse)
I prefer a pin lock as its not easier to replicate as a pattern

ENCRYPTION

Its a really tough form of security introduced by Google back in android Gingerbread(2.3.x).
full disk encryption stores your data in unreadable format and cannot be decrypted without a proper
key or password that only you know.it comes with a trade off on performance seens the data has to be
decrypted on-the-fly every time you access it.

VPN

Virtual private network comes in handy when using public wifi preventing man in the middle attack.
They act as an encrypted tunnel from client to server(the vpn servers) and also prevent sites from
tracking you by making request through the servers to the sites.
They make you appear to be connecting from another country and allow you to use websites or
services blocked by country your living in.
free vpn come with limited bandwith, best solution would be a paid subscription
private internet access has an easy to use app and payment can be made through bitcoin, paypal or
credit card.

BROWSER

A good app for browsing the internet is orbot and it's companion orfox browser that allow device to
acces the Tor network and Tor hidden services.Tor network is a group of volunteer-opertated servers
that improve privacy by connectin g to a series of virtual tunnels rather than making a direct
connection
