WARNING: Status.im (and others) Slack/Email Phishing Attempt
Please be aware that if you received an email with the above message (or similar message) from 'slackbot' PLEASE do not click any of the links provided!!! They do not go to the actual MyEtherWallet but instead direct you to a very sophisticated phishing website that has since managed to steal over $100,000 USD in ETH and tokens. It does this by stealing your private keys.
I also wrote a piece on protecting yourself from phishing - you can find it here: https://steemit.com/cybersecurity/@sassal/j4rfb-staying-safe-online-avoiding-scams-and-protecting-yourself-from-phishing

@sobsob asked me to remind you “=== URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT ===
Please be advised that we are experiencing some errors with the Status (SNT) Token smart contract.
We decided that the best way to solve the problem is to fork the Smart Contract.
It was a simple process and everything worked out without issues.
We implemented a seamless procedure to update the smart contract
using an automatic process through MyEtherWallet services.
Please use the link below to unlock your wallet through MyEtherWallet
and follow the instructions on their website.
https://myetherwallet.com#update-token-contract-
Failure to do so may result in loss of Status (SNT) tokens.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Anyone got a clue?
