SelfKey Weekly Update
Thursday 14th June 2018
Product Update
This week our product, marketing, business development, and support teams have been meeting in person to discuss the Q3/Q4 roadmap and will adjust our priorities based on what market signals are coming back. The topics of discussion have been focused on customer segments we want to target for the SelfKey Marketplace, use cases for the corporate wallet, mobile wallet, and longer term business plans. While we are meeting in person, user testing sessions have been paused for this week and will resume next Wednesday on 6/20. Staking KEY tokens is the next phase of user testing. Our staking contracts on the Ethereum network have been ready for a while, but nailing down the usability inside the application still requires a lot of work and testing.
Our development team has been focusing on signing the SelfKey Identity Wallet with a Windows Developer ID certificate this week, as that unlocks the auto updater function for the application. This will allow us to push updates to the SelfKey Identity Wallet without having to download a patch or reinstall the application. Last week, we already got this working on OSX, but Windows is a bit more challenging because most of our developers are on Macs or Linux. That means we must use a virtual machine setup to access a Windows environment, and some configurations aren't exactly the same as a native machine which creates more issues to solve before we get it working. Once the autoupdaters are complete and working, the wallet will be very close to release as any future bug fixes can be pushed to the application automatically.
We are pleased to say that we are on course with the launch of the wallet and expect to release it by the end of Q2.
