The Seven Day Beer Challenge Day 6 : Deep in the woods
So I'm kinda cheating with this one... I had drank it before but I was too drunk to appreciate it at that time so I'm doing re-tasting.
MEŽS / THE FOREST
This on is quite special. It's made by one of the most famous Latvian craft beer breweries called "Labietis". They specialize in making really cool and eccentric beers. Most of the time it really is an acquired taste.
As it turns out - Mežs is a really good one. If you ever wondered what a forest would smell/taste like - try this beer. It has this very bitter taste that reminds of pines. There is also a pretty strong juniper berry flavor. Every next sip goes down easier as you grow accustomed to it's taste.
It really is something you must experience yourself. For full immersion drink this while camping in woods.
If you can, I'd suggest visiting their brewery/bar in Riga going by the same name - "Labietis". You will not be disappointed if you like cool and weird beers.
You might not like some of them but you will be happy you tried and experienced all the flavors. The beers they have changes season to season. So It's worth returning once in a while.

That looks like a cool brewery. I have not had the pleasure to check out their beers, but this one definitely sounds interesting. I’m wondering if I would like this even though I don’t like gin.
I think you would. I'm not a fan of gin either and I found this beer interesting.
