I don't know a lot about beer

Sure, I enjoy a drink every now and again but I'm no connoisseur. In a way, this makes the challenge a great deal easier in that I can easily try new beers but at the same time - I don't know how to describe them!

I was lucky enough to find a shop that had a range of different craft beers that were made locally. Today I tried 'Miami Weiss' by Vog Brewery and it was pretty good.

I've tried German Weissbier before and I have to say that it's probably my favourite in that its got a unique banana type flavour. This, however, had none of that.

Unexpected

While the taste was not what I expected (see German weissbier) it was still pretty damn good.

It had some of the traditional 'Ale' flavour with a light crispness that I can only attribute to the wheat and 'gentle hopping'

Here's how Vog brewery describe it:

Dry hopped American wheat beer Truly transatlantic, hoppy american wheat beer. 50/50 British pale malt and wheat, gently hopped with American Cascade and Chinook. Fermented with German weissbier yeast for a lively, cloudy and full flavoured finish. ABV 4.5%

I'm looking forward to some of the others now!

Nice glass, where did you get that? (Glass fetish)

Hey @rubencress, I got them as a gift from my grandparents. They won them a LONG time ago and had never used them (keeping them 'for best') so gave them as a housewarming gift.

Nice! yeah, the glass looked pretty old, love that shit!
