The Seven Day Beer Challenge #2 : Free Bird

Day 2
I managed to do day 1 and it was a reasonably pleasant experience. Naturally I decided to continue with the challenge and today I have a can of 'Free Bird' by Crafty Devil.
Another local brewery (every Welsh brewery is pretty much local due to our country being so small!)
Wheat beer
As I mentioned in my first post, I'm a fan of German Weissbier and naturally when shopping I picked up a couple of wheat beers with the expectation of a similar taste.
I was wrong the first time and this time also. This beer had a strong, unapologetic hoppiness to it. It was smooth but way stronger in flavour than the Miami Weiss that I enjoyed yesterday.
I found it a struggle to get through the whole thing and at 330ml, that's a big problem. I can't imagine myself picking this up again but hey, at least i've tried it. I can imagine that by the end of this whole thing I'll get a good idea of what I like from a craft beer.
Heres what Crafty Devil have to say about it:
Freewheeling through life, this Free Bird American Wheat Ale is its own beer and it aint' changing for nobody. West coast hops and Weizen yeast ride on a pale and wheat malt base, sitting back and refusing to conform to style along the way. The result is a fresh easy drinker of a beer.
I can't say that I agree, but what do I know?
