This Sex And The City star is running for Governor of New York
Talk about owning your city from the reel life to real life.
Oprah may not be running for president, but that doesn't mean other Hollywood actors are not taking active measures to bring about a change in the US.
Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon has announced on social media that she'll be running for Governor of New York and she's got a campaign video to get things started.
She says, "New York is my home. New York is where I was raised and where I'm raising my kids. I'm a proud public school graduate and a prouder public school parent."
"I was given chances I don't see for most of New York's kids today. Our leaders are letting us down. We are now the most unequal state in the entire country with both incredible wealth and extreme poverty. Half the kids in our upstate cities live below the poverty line. How did we let this happen?"
"Something has to change. We are sick of politicians who care more about headlines and power than they do about us."
Cynthia is famous for her role as Miranda in the Sex And The City franchise.
