Showcase Sunday: All The Weird Dancers

in #showcase-sunday5 years ago

As promised, today I'm putting together a compilation post of posts from the past. Stole this idea from @nonameslefttouse and thought it was a pretty cool initiative to run with. Since I've mostly posted art here on Steem, it has always been something that irked me that so much of my work is buried in time when potentially there are new people around all the time, so without further ado...

The Dancers!

So these are actually in the reverse order that I originally posted them, and for this colorful hairy guy I also recorded the process and posted that as well.

Thinking back I think it was the following one that first got some positive attention, I think the first one flew a bit under the radar.

And last, and well probably least the first dancer.

So in case it's not obvious to some, these are all full CG made in Cinema 4D. The first one was originally posted on July 21, 2018. Time flies. That's gonna do it for this #showcase-sunday join in if you've got some buried content you'd like to let see the light of day again. 😁

Sort:

Holey macaroni... That's some trippy shit right there. I don't recall ever seeing this either, or maybe I did and forgot, but that doesn't seem like something I'd forget.

In that case #showcase-sunday has had the desired outcome. :D

Indeed it has. Everything I saw today was new to me.

I remember no 9

I remember all of these so there XD

Ahhh I kind of want to do this thing but also not really because a) I feel like a fraud (don't ask but you probably understand anyway XD) b) that requires digging stuff up and c) I pretty much never repost things.

Although having said that I have a line in my main template that says "extra/related posts" and I really should actually use it but I hate searching for things on steem because it usually involves me searching on my blog to find out when I did a thing and then scrolling back to that date on my feed and aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh XD well I'm not doing Patreon or posting progblogs on Narrative anymore (possibly not posting anything on Narrative anymore I'll see how things roll) so I have a bit more time at least to compile related posts?

[cue more internal screaming]

If you ever change your mind, grid mode on Steempeak is good for quickly going back in time.

The only time I don't use SteemPeak in grid mode is when I need the favourite tags XD (and then it's straight back into grid mode).

I made myself trawl back in time on my blog (because it was easier, if I'd tried to do the collection here I would have just bailed XD) and collect some posts which are currently grouped by tabs, should be able to make 9 showcase-sunday posts with them. Now all I have to do is get over my fear of reposting. Will have to find out what happens with that on Sunday XD

i missed the second one, it looks crazy.
the first one could with no problems pass as a man in a costume. great movement!
How are rendering times now (i feel old :) ) for something like that?

Not too bad actually. I use a gpu renderer(Octane) so it's MUCH faster than a CPU renderer.

What stunning landscapes and photos.

Yea the landscapes are my favorite part of this post too.

LOL I haven't seen any misplaced random comments like that in a while :D The landscapes are indeed fabulous!

Haha, right? Can't say I've missed them.
