About... Severance // Tutuboxd

Greetings, working travelers!

Today is my birthday (hooray!) and I'm on a plane already in Canadian territory. It's not only my first birthday traveling and in a plane, but also the first time I did not notice the hours turning to the next day, but we can agree that it was complicated since we went through time zones and our local Brazilian clock went back in time. Maybe I'll just consider the in flight time as a separated period; as a Severance.

First off, some of my friends had already recommended for me this AppleTV+ Original Series, but until now I hadn't have the opportunity to watch it. Unfortunately the entertainment system within the aircraft only allowed me to watch the first three episodes of the series, but I guess it served its purpose, since it left me wanting more.

The audiovisual production's main content theme is the Severance: a neurological procedure that "bifurcates" one's brain into two separate and exclusive memory states, one for work and one for not-work, keeping both of each individual's experiences independently stored on the same body. Every time a severed worker enters an elevator inside of the working place, their memory and cognition switch to the "working mode".

The show's protagonist is Mark (Adam Scott), a simple man with a singular sense of humor, who sometimes can get into your nerves but does his task of presenting the series' dynamics extraordinarily.

I intend to continue watching it once I have access to an 🍎📺➕, and maybe I'll make a follow-up post as well. Cheers, and merry christmas to all of you that celebrate <3
