SHTF TIP# 10- Emotional Hygiene!!

in #shtf7 years ago (edited)

Well Ladies and gents; due to my amazing slow internet, I will not be able to post cool little picture with my articles like I used to. But I will still give you the meat and potatoes. : )

So today I want to talk about something that is very important and may prove to be a lifesaver in a tough situation! Obviously the title will tell you that I'm talking about emotional hygiene. Now just like any other hygiene it involves keeping yourself clean in some sort of way! So I will go ahead and break this down for you real quick.

So when I say emotional hygiene; I'm talking about keeping your mind clear and in the right spot. In a survival situation this may be a serious game changer. Most people will go out get lost or stuck in a rough spot with the wrong mentality right from the beginning. Others may go into it with the right mindset and then lose it somewhere along the way. This is what we want to avoid here folks!

Whenever you head out to go anywhere; you should always have some sort of thought that something could go wrong. If you don't have a good mindset towards this, you may end up being hurt, injured or worse. Nobody wants this to happen. The initial shock that something crazy just happened that you may not have thought, trained or prepared for may be enough to send you in the absolute wrong mental direction.

You may go into a situation having the best mentality possible; and then something may happen to change it. Any of us who have ever seen survival shows can see this. And some of us have actually been there. This may happen in your everyday life as well. You may start out fantastic; and then "it" happens. Then come the demotivation phase. This is the part where people break down and just say "screw it, I give up." At this point you may seal your fate if you dig that hole any deeper.

These are two simple situations to explain why you should keep a positive attitude. If something bad happens; expect it. Don't lay down and die because you've hit a rough patch. Lie itself is a test and the ultimate goal is to get an A+. All we can do is keep moving and keep trying. If you are truly stuck in a rough spot; think of what you have to go home to; or the reason that you have to keep on moving. The idea f not being able to get a fire going or starving and dehydration may take a serious toll on you mentally and physically; but we have to keep our heads in the game if we want that all to stop.

So by keeping good thoughts and the right attitude you might find yourself spitting in the face of your challenge; and saying "I'm ready. Bring it on." I personally like to think about my awesome family that I'm going to see when it's all said and done. Do not be discouraged if life deals a crap hand; just keep your head in the game! Whether it be a survival situation or everyday life; good emotional hygiene could save your hide!

I hope you all found this useful. While it is mostly opinion I hope it helps you through whatever journeys you may have. I always enjoy writing for you gals and guys; so I hope you enjoyed this. I will keep it coming! Love you all!

As Always
