I agree @solocult, but, when damaged too much, the artist might just finally withdrawal from the world into a schizoid state where he/she finally stops making art...

Thats why there is a need for strong supporters and curators who can help prevent this from happening, by giving refuge, monetary or moral support, and I think there needs to be more strong patrons of the art as during the Renaissance...

And normal people need to try and understand the value of the artists, poets and writers in their own circle, once their gone, they are gone...

How to help "curate" your local artist DIY.

• Buy a drawing
• Share their links
• Help them book a show
• Say something nice about them (as if they where dead at their funeral, but instead try saying that nice thing about them to other people when they are still alive)...
