Today we will continue the series called "Canadian Wildlife".

The Royal Canadian Mint is known by its high quality work and the enormous number of commemorative coins issued each year. Among these commemoratives we find many, individual or in series, under the theme "wildlife".

Canada, with its vast lands and seas, is the home of a varied fauna and that will be showed in this series.

I will try to post land animals, sea animals and birds, in that order.

The seventy third coin is a 1967 CAD $1 "Canada Goose".

This coin weights 23.3276g with 80% silver purity and Uncirculated finish. Its mintage was 6,767,496 units.

It is a circulating commemorative coin. It commemorates the 100th Anniversary of Canada.

The reverse shows a Canada goose in flight.

It was designed and engraved by Alex Colville.

The obverse shows the portrait in right profile of Queen Elizabeth II, when she was 39 years old.

It was designed and engraved by Arnold Machin.
