Week FIVE Sixweekhealth: Press Up an indoor keeping fit activity

in #sixweekhealth7 years ago

Hi
This is my entry for week Five sixweekhealth contest. This is about keeping fit. There are loads of exercises that can keep you fit but I choose to engage in an indoor exercise because the weather was not friendly in the morning, I therefore engaged in Press up. Below are the video and the photos showing yhe activities. It is quite simple and not that complicated but energy demanding.

The photos are below

There are different ways you can keep your hand while doing it
You can use your palm surface as your support while lifting yourself up OR
You can turn your hand to a fist to support you which I did.
If you are using your fist, you need a soft pad to cushion your hand from trauma or you can improvise as I did by using a soft slippers as my cushioning pad. You follow the process as exemplified in the video and move at a particular rhythm. If you are doing it for the first time, don't expect yourself to do it for a long time. I can do it up to 70 up and down but on a very good day, I can reach 100, so start it first and you will improve.
BENEFITS
It increases the cardiovascular function, by engaging in the exercise, it will help to promote general blood flow in the body and increase the strength of the heart in pumping the blood.
Secondary, it increases the body's muscle contour and beauty, making you look more attractive and smart
Mentally, you will be alert and calculative, you perform well in your mental activities
Overall body well being because your body systems will be working perfectily, risk of heart diseases will be reduced to its minimum and risk of organ failures will be low.
The benefits of Press Up and other exercises can't be over emphasized.
Subsiquently, on my blog, I will be exposing more health related post.
Thanks @healthsquared for this platform
I will write more on health for general and for special fields.

I do headstands on concrete floors, you really shouldn't be afraid to get a "trauma" when doing push ups on your knuckles ;)

Wow
Then you are strong enough
However, so people are afraid to do such

You should watch Old Boy, where a man is held for 20 years in solitary confinement and beats his knuckles against the wall for that time :) That's actually what some kickboxers do too to strengthen them. I think if you try pushups on your fists, you are already strong enough :)

Thanks man
It seems you are good in this Yoga
It is quite alien to us in this part of world or I will say, I have not put interest in it. I will visit your blog and follow you

You are welcome and thank you. I'm glad you put interest into yoga, if health is important to you, yoga will be to your liking as it concerns itself with all aspects of health: strength, mobility, flexibility, balance, endurance, speed and contentment, faith, compassion, humbleness, focus and calmness on a mental level.

push ups are great for exercising the hand and shoulder muscles, I often do it at home
