Curiosity For skill development

The prerequisite for being competent in something

Curiosity means eagerness to know about something. Curiosity allows you to learn new things. You are clearly ahead of others about skill development if you are more curious than them. Curiosity is the key. Curiosity drives you to know things. Which means it helps you to gather skills with fun.

I'm going to illustrate the importance of curiosity for developing your skill level.

Curiosity builds up the willingness to learn:

If you try to be skillful on something, you may need to learn a lot of things regarding that thing. You are not eligible to learn without the willingness to learn the thing. And if you are not curious enough, your willingness is not going to come out of the hole. Willingness to learn something can never be brought without curiosity. You may learn something by being forced, but you'll lose interest in that case and thus, failure is sure.

Curiosity increases the interest:

If you are not interested in the sector you are trying to be competent in, you can never be skillful on that. Curiosity is something that can drive your interest in the sector. Suppose you want to be skilled in Information & technology (IT) sector and you have curiosity on that sector. This curiosity allows you to find interest in learning new things about IT. On the other hand, if your curiosity is absent, then you may learn a little at first while trying, but you are sure to lose interest on IT as you are not eager to know about it.

Curiosity makes skill development a fun:

Skill development becomes a fun if curiosity is present in the skill development process. Suppose you have a curiosity about the thing you want to be skilled in. if you are curious, then you will gain the willingness to learn through it. Again you will find it interesting to learn the things. When you are interested and willing to know a thing, then to know that thing must be wonderful. Thus curiosity makes the whole skill development process a fun.

From the discussion, it is clear that curiosity is the prerequisite for developing your skill. Try to be curious if want to be skillful.

Curiosity is also a curse some times making it hard to stay focussed. My main drive usually is planting a seed (building something?) and being curious on how it will grow

You are right about this great article. Like me i have always love to be curious to know more and learn more. "Curiosity drives you to know things. Which means it helps you to gather skills with fun."

I am a university student. That's why its blog very important for me. I think someone who follow your article without involving any institutions he can acquire a lot of knowledge by implementing this instructions.

So... willingness, interest, and fun. Sounds very reasonable. Is it possible that curiosity is defined as "seeing a box on a shelf and you are compelled to look inside?" That describes me.
