When transactions are made, timestamps, source and destination are added to a block that will be mined.

In your future article try to explain the block as a digital page of data/transactions in a distributed ledger book. Simplify mining to just finding empty digital pages on which digital transactions will be written.

(This exp would be for people who have no tech experience/knowledge in this area)

Yeah that's a quite good analogy, it's very hard to find an easy way to explain it!I hope the graphics along with somewhat simplified explanations will help people out a bit atleast, yours was good aswell :).
