The new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 smartphone was officially launched
Xiaomi today organized a special event with several exciting product releases. Among the new releases, the company presented the public and the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is the successor of the Mi Mix, a very interesting smartphone that has a screen that covers almost the entire front surface. The new model, Mi Mix 2, goes on the same design, but the company chose to use a screen with a smaller diagonal. The device no longer has a diagonal screen of 6.4 inches in 17: 9 format but uses a diagonal of 5.99 inches in 18: 9 format.
The screen of the new smartphone displays a FullHD + resolution of 2160 × 1080 pixels and the bottom edge is 12% smaller than the previous model.
Top specs
The technical specifications are top, Xiaomi chose to give the audience very technical details. The new Mi Mix 2 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with eight Kryo 280 cores that can reach a maximum frequency of 2.45GHz and has 6GB or 8GB of RAM capacity. Storage options can include 64GB, 128GB or 256GB - for the 6GB RAM or 128GB model for the 8GB RAM.
Xiaomi chose not to use a dual camera system for the main camera and relied on the use of a single sensor. The device uses a Sony Sony UMX386 12MP sensor for the main camera. It is identical to the one used on the Xiaomi Mi 6 with OIS support on four axes. The front camera uses a 5MP sensor.
Other technical details include a 3.400mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 Fast Charge 3.0 and running the Android 7 Custom Nougat operating system with the Xiaomi MIUI 9 interface.

The standard version of the new phone - with metallic aluminum case - will be available in black and the ceramic case and 8GB RAM capacity will be available in white.
The price of the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 smartphone starts at 420 euros for the 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage space and can reach up to 700 euros for the top with a ceramic case, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space.
