Steemit Music League Challenge Week 7 / Ape in the mirror / Original Beat

in #smlchallenge7 years ago

There goes my entry for the Steemit Music League Challenge Week 7. The theme was Video Games and since I'm not a big gamer dude, I had to go with what I know best, or eventually what I did played back in the days, so I chose Donkey Kong. I sampled the music from the level where he's collecting bananas under water..sounds weird, but that's what he does. The level is called Aquatic Ambiance. So after pitching the sample down to my desired tempo I started creating the beat around it. As usually everything else is MIDI created except for the sample from a HipHop group called Supernatural and the track Mind tricks the body.I played the guitar myself and let the guitar rap for Ya'll. (; Hope some of you would dig it and some won't, and if that's the case please don't miss the opportunity to tell me why, I can deal with any constructive criticism. ☺ Aiight then. ENJOY.

Holy guitarrrrrrrrrrrr :)

Love your guitar playing holy smokes especially around 2:13.

Such a smooth boombap beat as well. I was hoping for more distinction in different parts of the beat to make the beat more alive but the guitar took that over for ya o weeeee.

Much respect for the sound quality of this one o mannn does it sound clean and real nicey.

Appreciate your continutal involvement in the community and absolutely love this ape in the mirror artwork o weeee. I am trying to figure out if that green object in the foreground is a plant or another being haha.

Much love.

Thanks chief..yeah I kept it simple as possible this time. Glad you like it though. ☺

Sometimes simple is sweet o weeee. Heck yeah it is bringing such fantastic energy.

Are you threatening me!?

Hahaha much love to the @cornholio

@cornholio Hey Beavis..pull my finger. (;

wow , nice submit !
I love the melody and your solo. You are a real guitar hero. ;)
The mix is clean too !
Btw to be constructive maybe you can accentuate your transition between the different part of the track (with effect, filter or beat change) . Peace !

Thanks @thenite appreciate your kind feedback. You are very right about the transition, I should've done it between the changing parts, especially after the main soloing and after the last guitar part...but my time was pressuring and I had to keep it simple in order to spend some time on mixing and mastering. I'll rearrange it properly one day and let you hear it. ☺ Thanks again.

@beatseb this is lit AF! Dope beat and the guitars Woop! loved how u used Supernatural sample, Dope production, Kudos!

Thanks a lot homie glad you diggin' it. ☺

Wow this song is so awesome! Reminds me of listening to Pink Floyd in a lot of ways, it's got a really good vibe. Please keep making and posting more music like this! Definitely going over to follow you on soundcloud now :D

Cheers!

Thanks a lot @digitalengineer and yes David Gilmour use to be one of my inspirations when I developed my guitar technique, glad it can be heard. I'll try to make more music like this and I thank you for the encouragement...much appreciated. I follow you on Steemit and Soundcloud. ☺ Cheers.

Thank you sweetie and welcome aboard...hope to hear some of your fresh beats. Don't forget to make an introduction post first. Steem on. ♥

Hiya <3 You are more than welcome! Thank you! I just made my first post (°◡°♡).:。

I read it..it's cool but kinda short, you should make a proper introduceyourself post to keep it more transparent and add some more informations..like a kind of bio about your DJing path until today. Click on the link to get inspired. ☺

Okidoki :)

Yeah, this is chill ... So this is where you've been kicking out your best jams ;-) Of course I would have loved to lay down a soft Rhodes patch somewhere in there, if ye lemme at it... ;-) oh nice ping pong auto pan at the end there...

Heeey @onemedia is in the building. ☺ What's up pal, good seeing you on this wonderful platform and welcome aboard buddy. (; Yeah I'll rearrange this piece sometime and let you add some soft Rhodes, no doubt about it. Thanks for your feedback. Cheers.

Dang! That is a sweet jam!
Where is that sample from? It's on the tip of my tongue.

Thanks buddy. Its Donkey Kong Aquatic Ambiance level.

You're killin' it dude!
