Smooth gets a house from SBD today!
Well, I was really excited about the pump I just announced. I was stoked because I had 400 SBD sitting around and converted it to steem on the internal market. I didn't quite catch the $3+ sbds today, but I caught the ones over $2.
I thought I was pretty pimp for turning $400 into $800 in just a few minutes, but that's nothing compared to our financial monster @smooth.

Smooth was able to cash in on the pump with at least 60k SBD. At 2X that's $120k USD. Looks like he got some more steem with it!
I haven't gone through the other accounts yet, that's a better fit for @paulag, but I just want to say congrats to @smooth for his big trading day. I wasn't dreaming about being a day trader before. Color me interested.
lnstead of chattering about house prices,, will someone be able to explain what really happened in steem world? For so long both steem and SBD were tumbling around ~$1. And tonight steem jumped +25% while SBD +130%. Why is this? Why this SHARP jump? And what makes sbd to walk so much away from it's native $1 where it should sit all the time ? This SBD and its price is quite a mystery to me.
There is no mechanism to push the price of SBD down quickly (i.e. no mechanism to rapidly expand the supply of SBD), so it can be pumped up rather easily. In time, it will drift back down to about $1 -- either as the bagholders that bought at $1.20 realize their mistake, or as its supply gradually grows to meet demand. Back in March it momentarily hit $7, and then eventually it came back down.
Yea I have the same question, what is going on? And is market working at all now? Mine does not open...
It was listed on a Korean exchange - more volume = pump.

Pretty sure he had more in Bittrex and could liquidate that too. I'm betting when it's all said and done it'll look like $500k or so in an evening. Not a bad night.
120K would buy you a really nice house around here! The average house is going for about 50 -70K

Where I grew up, you can still find deals on 2000 sq ft fixers with acreage for that kind of money.

$120k would be enough for a small apartment in Sweden. At least in the suburb. Having 60K and turning into 120K within seconds is what I would call an amazing ROI.
