Hello young Steemian! I'm very happy to see an engineer. We have plenty of biologists, people from all areas of chemistry but engineers - no.
My advice to you is to write about something specific. There are way too many posts about something non-specific and reading book/Wiki style posts is a bit boring.
If you start writing blog-style posts, with your own photos and some example of the problem solving I'm sure you will get the atention.

Seriously, there is basically no competition in Engineering. Go for it :)
