We are now down to the final four! Much drama and excitement have occurred leading up to this moment. Liverpool will face Roma, Real Madrid against Bayern, the Champions League semi-finalists have been decided. Real Madrid will attempt a record-breaking third title in a row, their 13th in total. Liverpool and Bayern Munich will both be looking to add a sixth to their tally. Roma will look for their very first trophy.

"Every team in the semi-finals is a good team". A cliche statement by many managers but one that certainly rings true. All teams stand a good chance of winning the competition so let us take a look at the reasons why.

Bayern Munich

Despite their shaky start to the season culminating in the 3-0 loss to PSG and the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern Munich has looked stronger than ever since Jupp Heynckes took the reins. In general, Bayern’s passage through the knockout stages has been relatively serene. The fact that Sevilla and Besiktas caused them few problems makes it seem as if Bayern are not in top gear. In a competition where all other teams are defying the odds, shocking the world or just being lucky. Bayern is just turning over smoothly chugging along at a steady pace.

Consistency will be the key for them, and they have shown that they are capable of kicking into high gear as evident from their scoring spree of 14 goals in the past three games ahead of the matchup with Real Madrid. That's why Bayern Munich will win. In a competition that has so much drama that anyone can dream of, a team that is consistent and not underperforming should win.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid will take it home merely because they are the greatest club ever to play in the Champions League. Two Champions League in a row is not something to laugh at and their well on their way to winning a third. Inconsistencies may hurt a teams chances as seen from their recent lacklustre performances including the massive slip up against Juventus. But they still progressed. A great Champions League team is brilliant, lucky, or both at precisely the most valuable moments and that is what Real Madrid is. They break hearts and break games.

Liverpool

Liverpool will win it due to the goals they score. They score a lot of goals and goals ultimately win you games. Such a trait is especially useful in cup games where away goals matter and the dynamics are entirely different. Their dismantling of Premier League winners Manchester City is one such indication of their goal scoring exploits.

Their dangerous front three has scored 23 goals among them, more so than Cristiano Ronaldo at 15 and three people are harder to mark than just one extraordinary striker.

Roma

Some say the unlikeliest of the bunch, but they knocked out Barcelona and could very well knock out two more. The drive, grit and determination from this team are inspirational, and they will win only because they have not won it before. One should not look down on a team just because of their lack of quality. The motivation to succeed and go where no club of their stature has gone before is powerful and thus may very well see them go all the way.
