These 2 Instagram tips will blow your mind!

Instagram has changed a whole lot lately, if i’ve noticed that i’m sure you have too. More and more people are leaving Snapchat for Instagram Stories, but with this move, come this need to get noticed through Stories.

Here are 2 tips to make your experience more more worthwhile.

Problem 1: Instagram is cracking down on those bogus hashtags that are so overused, it gives recycled tissue paper new hope (or doesn’t it?). Anyhow, when it comes to stories, how can you get noticed or found? The race to be noticed is a daily hustle in its own for most, especially for those who moved to Snapchat, realized it wasn’t fun anymore and have decided to come back to Instagram.

Solution: Geo-tag! Geo-tag! Geo-tag! Do you want to get noticed in your neighbourhood, city, country? Geo-tag. Add locations to your Insta Stories. Do you travel lots and want new international followers? Geo-tag! Location based stories are a great way to get noticed and gain a number of new followers.

Sometimes when I want to see what’s going on around me, or anywhere in the world, I head on over to Search > Places > [enter place name] and there you go, tea in hand and i’m watching people vacation in Costa Rica, or catching up on what’s going on in town.

Problem 2: That person who thinks InstaStories is their diary and rants on the screen, except, if you’re not apt at reading 300 words a second (mild exaggeration), you’ll miss the whole story.

Solution: Long press on that story/clip, don’t let go and it freezes the screen giving you enough time to read the entire paragraph. Done? Let go, and move on…!

Bonus:
Gone are the days when you could use a decent hashtag in hopes for it to replace the Yellow Pages, now everyone seems to be misusing every single popular hashtag. A few years ago, I moved countries and needed to find a new hairstylist in my new city. I didn’t know a soul, and was still learning about the city. Being the keen Instagram user I am, I went on a hashtag search and found myself a pretty good stylist. Glad I got in when I did, she’s like an Instagram celebrity now with a 6 month wait list!
