RE: Facebook – You are Dead to Me Now

in #socialmedia7 years ago

While my "real life" friends remain on facebook (many of them took years to accept FB so won't think about using a new platform, like this one), I will remain there (for sharing in the lives of friends and family). I do use it for my business because lots of local people are on it and use it (I get people coming into our artisanal shop and buying things, after they have seen my facebook posts). So yes, I'll carry on using it whilst it works for me.

Sort:

I did not even get on fb until I started this weight loss stuff- I do not have friends there from the world - all are from business.

I am like you - people see me and them when they are ready to get serious about their health they find me again. Millions of people are there - vs thousands here.

People like you with an artisanal shop or online business are just the type to do well there under the old paradigm - not so sure now with this chaos.

I have lots of friends from UK (and elsewhere) on there, so it is great to see what they are up to, and have a laugh. I don't really sell online anymore - too much hassle. For me, it is much easier and profitable to sell in person, but FB works as advertising for me. I think there are more people who see the posts than you realise. Certainly, I am often surprised by the local people who say they have seen stuff (but never like it or share it or comment on it). I don't trust the stats on there. And I don't trust FB (or anything else). We all have to make choices and adapt as things change
