Social Network - Spoon
Another social network app, where I had an account was Spoon. I have used this app infrequently, since I did spend more time on Clubhouse. This was also an audio social networking app, similar to Clubhouse. Users could create profiles with their nicknames, upload a profile picture, follow other users, and post on the walls. They could post either on their own, or users they followed. In addition, they could write direct messages to other users. At the same time, they could link their profile, with other social networks, such as Facebook.
The main priority of this app, though, was audio broadcasting, and live stream without camera. Listeners could tip their favorite streamers with so-called Spoons, which then could be redeemed for money. In addition, users could post short audio clips, known as Talk, on discussion topics, and to discuss with other users, whether with audio replies or text-based replies. Another feature of this app was podcast, streamers could upload pre-recorded audio files, or save their livestreams, in the form of podcast. Another feature was live call, where a streamer could create a live call with four listeners. The last feature of this app was voice profile, where users could upload short clip of their voices, and other users could rate the voice, by selecting the voice type, which would best fit the description. The selection was limited to fourteen choices, from these options: Sweet, Cute, Flirty, Scary, Soft, Warm, Gentle, Cool, Funny, Friendly, Husky, Powerful, Tough, Romantic.
The last feature, available only to influencers and celebrities, was Originals. This content was done by celebrities or professionals in entertainment industry. It was similar to user generated content. However, it was put in a different category.
Sadly, as of October 30, 2024, this app is no longer available in the United States. I personally, as mentioned above, infrequently used this app. Since, I have spent more time on Clubhouse. However, I did create an account, just in case, it became popular. My nickname was, as usual, pliutkus.
