I thought it would be a good idea for my future sock projects to compile a sort of Sock Digest where I list the posts I’ve written about a specific type of sock I’ve just finished knitting. I would then easily access information like the pattern I’ve used, the type of yarn, and the techniques and strategies I’ve learnt along the way.

I've used You Tube for most of the techniques and different methods I’ve applied during my sock making journey so far. A sock knitting journal adding links to tutorials I've used and how I've solved problems would be very useful. I reckon this would definitely save me time and effort and I'd also be able to track my progress.

To give you an idea of what I mean by a knitting journal I’ve linked to this example :

This is one of my favourite You Tubers as she shows how she re-creates and adapts vintage knitting patterns for modern yarns and terminology. In the video above she goes through some of the projects that she worked on during the year. She uses a nice notebook and has developed a few stickers that she's hoping to sell afterwards.

I also have a (paper) notebook where I make notes notes and write down which row I’m working on and so on. My notebook is not just for sock as I use it for general information and even include recipes and drawings.

Here's my first sock digest :

I think I’ve covered all the posts related to this pair of socks. These could easily be like chapters in my journal.

Thank you for reading !
