What is Solar To Crypto?

Hello everyone, I am pleased to present to you Solar To Crypto, company no.10883054 of Colchester, Essex County, England.
Why am I here? This project has has been 4 years in the making. I first started altcoin (non-Bitcoin crypto-currency) mining but the ever increasing costs of electricity and the high price volatility of the altcoin markets made it a very hit and miss proposition. To address the high electricity cost I have developed a working home solar miner operation (that only occupies a small space of one window sill). I have been using this small scale operation as a test platform for the past few months. In addition, I have run a number of successful test utilizing inexpensive graphic processing units (GPU) to mine the Cryptonote algo through the Miner-gate altcoin mining platform.
Currently I am waiting on a meeting with the Essex, England Innovation Centre so that I can apply for additional funding to expand my Solar To Crypto operation. At present I am limited in how many hours I can run my GPUs due to my current solar setup and I am seeking additional funding to expand my system and prove the validity and profitability of a very simply 24/7 home solar mining operation. In order to support my return or earnings claims I intend to video or time lapse photography and make the results available online.

To assist me with my project I am building a small team of supports and investors for this project as I really believe this could be the future of home altcoin mining. If it will work in generally overcast England imagine what it can do in more sunny climates... You are welcome to follow us and join in the adventure via our Slack group or Facebook page. Below is the link to my original video which I submited to the Essex Innovation Centre (http://essex1630.co.uk/). It's a bit rough but I'm I will produce a much better one next time around.

SOLAR POWER ?
why have i chosen solar power? well we can always rely on the sun to come up and go down at night
advances in solar tech have made cells cheaper and a lot more efficient to what they were a few years ago
apart from manufacturing there is no damage to the environment generating energy from these solar cells

one problem i have found was solar panels are still quite expensive so i deiced to run a small experiment on making a 25w solar panel

the cells i brought from eBay for around 15gbp with shipping
and i also wanted to test something called bare conductive (https://www.bareconductive.com/) I'm not very good with soldering and this offered me an alternative to test
(a little about bare conductive this is coped from there website above)
Bare Conductive’s electrically conductive paint and sensor hardware are changing the way that individuals and businesses incorporate electronics and intelligence into the built environment. At Bare, we use an open-innovation approach to finding new applications and partners for our growing technology stack. Our business model focuses on supplying our technology directly to individuals for prototyping, and to businesses for incorporation into finished products. We leverage a combination of design and engineering to ensure that our technology is accessible to anyone.
Our innovation-driven attitude towards design and electronics is a deeply held belief that is reflected in our company culture. The company was founded and is led by four graduates of the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London alongside a non-executive board and a number of industry advisors.

so making a solar panel i found some really good guides online before trying this and i fully suggest you do your homework as it seems easy but connecting the cells can be confusing
Please note this is a very low budget expreiment as wasnt done with flux cable ect
i wanted to see if i could make a solar panel and wanted to see how cheap it was possible for so it is not the best and wont be winning an award any time soon haha

the solar cells arrived intact these are beyond the word fragile i broke about 8 making my first panel so be very very careful

image-20170701_183417.jpg
so i started using the bare conductive applying spots on the back of the panel cells applying a wire and waiting for it to dry dry time was impressive at about 3-5 minutes before it had set enough to move the cell

image-20170701_183417.jpg
threw research into solar i found i had to connect the panels in reverse to all my knowledge of wiring its + to + and - to - but for the cell i had to connect them + to - to increase the total voltage the panel would make remember i said fragile the chip on the cell was caused flipping it over so make sure your extra careful as i mentioned above

Such an innovative idea! Something outside the box and an interesting concept. What are your thoughts on energy storage in batteries and what kind of solar- array size are you envisioning to help produce enough power to support your energy needs? Upvoted followed and resteemed.

im looking to get up to around 1kw ideally so a fair size panel or multipul sub devision systems

if you got the correct battery for your needs im running a car battery and a deep cycle batter for my systems atm i swap the battery out every other week for even battery ware
