"Quetzalcoatl by Corima"(2012)
'Quetzalcoatl' (released in 2012) is the name of the second studio album produced by the American band of Mexican origin, Corima. The group founded in 2005 based in Texas, is musically integrated into the sound coordinates of Zeuhl music and rock in opposition with influences from bands such as Magma, Koenjihyakkei and Present ... Their great work 'Quetzalcoatl' is a A true melodic gem ... The first eight sections of the album make up the suite 'Corima Iss De Hundin!', a chemically pure Zeuhl glory, generous in sonorities and full cadences that last for more than 25 minutes. and 'Gurdhait Nefertatt' is carnival without hiding its Dadaist humor, creating an environment that serves as the basis for the sequence of 'Vhlakoshpetzz', 'Sunna Domitiwuando' and 'Wlakezz Fhunder' to develop the musical collage that Corima turns into her own label. ‘Vhlakoshpetzz’ plays on mischievous and frenetic density, just like ‘Wlakezz Fhunder’, while ‘Sunna Domitiwuando’ explores sound patterns and environments with a more measured depth. 'Krishkalidortz' takes advantage of the warm aura of the piano lines with which the previous section ends to allow the band to explore its jazz facet more in depth, -of course, without breaking with the surrealistically neurotic thread- that is imposed in the ideology musical. Then a moment of candid calm continues with 'Divindondiwua', a section marked by a well-articulated amalgam of piano and choral arrangements, but it is actually a passage of encouragement for the momentum of the last section, 'Khozmikh Kavhiledrios', to reinstate and synthesize the extroverted spirituality that the extravagant architecture of the most hectic moments of the suite that had already been well established ... without a doubt a highly recommended album ... =)
