The Alpha Centauri system, possibly discovered a new Earth-like planets

Scientists are preparing to disclose information about a new planet in our galactic neighborhood, which is a "supposedly Earth-like planet" and is in the habitable zone of the parent star, reported the German weekly Der Spiegel the last Friday.

This exoplanet orbits the famous star Proxima Centauri, which is part of the star system Alpha Centauri, the magazine writes, citing an anonymous source.

"It still has not received the name of a planet orbiting Proxima Centauri at a distance at which water can exist in liquid form on the surface - an important requirement that makes the possibility of the origin and development of life on the exoplanet," it said in a note.

"Never before have scientists discovered" Earth's twin, "so close to the solar system," the newspaper notes, adding that the ESO (European Southern Observatory, ESO) announced these findings at the end of August.

No more details of the report are given.

ESO Representative for Public Affairs Richard Hook told reporters contacted him news agency "Agence France Presse" that he knew about the existence of this report, but to confirm or deny the information contained therein refuses.

The star Proxima Centauri is located at a distance of only 4.24 light years from the solar system. This star, a member of the Earth nearest to the star system Alpha Centauri, which includes three-star, was inaugurated in 1915.

Sweet, if only we could get there in a day or two to check it out!

Well, let's focus on this "god given" planet we still have to fix...
