Es una novela de fantasía donde los personajes viven cerca de un rio en un valle llamado Rin. Ellos llegaron hace unos 100 años, estableciéndose en ese maravilloso valle, después de haber peleado una gran guerra contra sus mortales enemigos el pueblo de Los Zebak.

      Pero en la época actual donde inicia la narración de la novela el río se ha secado y el pueblo sin este valioso recurso puede morir. los ciudadanos se reúnen y comienzan a debatir cual es la mejor solución y si deben ir a la montaña del Dragon donde nace el río y ver cuál es el problema y si se puede solucionar.

      Deciden ir a donde la curandera del pueblo, para muchos de ellos una bruja, llamada Sheba. Esta vieja mujer les da un mapa y les indica que solo deben ir siete miembros de la comunidad. Pero el mapa tiene una particularidad especial, solo puede ser leído por su portador, un chico llamado Rowan, el protagonista de este libro.

      El mapa, en la medida que van recorriendo el camino, les va presentando mensajes en forma de poemas con misterios y enigmas que deben descifrar. El primero de ellos le dice que partirán siete, pero solo uno llegará a la cima de la montaña donde vive el Dragón.

• Bukshan: extrañas bestias grises con cuernos. proporcionan leche y lana gris gruesa queso y mantequilla y cuajada.
  

• Pueblo del Rin: llegaron al valle hace unos 100 años atrás vinieron del mar y lucharon contra un poderoso enemigo los Zebak.
  

• Annad: niña de 5 años de edad, Hermana de Rowan.

• Sefton: padre de Rowan murió salvando lo de un incendio en su casa.
  

• El Dragon: con una poderosa cola, unas enormes garras, una piel con escamas blancas tan duras como el acero. Es un dragón muy anciano, pero todavía muy fuerte.

      Es una novela juvenil para todas las edades, fácil de leer, con una narración entretenida, y buena descripción de los personajes y el ambiente donde se desenvuelven.

      El final es el esperado y el protagonista cumple con su papel con mucho éxito. Es una novela que se lee muy rápido, y en la medida que van pasando los obstáculos los personajes van mostrando sus fortalezas y debilidades.

      Su título original es Rowan of Rin, fue escrita por Emily Rodda en el año de 1993. La leí en formato epub, y fue traducida al español por Eduardo García Murillo. Las ilustraciones fueron realizadas por Matt Wilson. la profecía de la bruja Sheba, es la primera de una serie de cinco novelas que hablan de las aventuras de Rowan y de su pueblo en el valle del Rin.

The prophecy of the witch Sheba

      It is a fantasy novel where the characters live near a river in a valley called the Rhine. They arrived about 100 years ago, settling in that wonderful valley, after having fought a great war against their mortal enemies the town of Los Zebak.

      But in the current era where the narrative of the novel begins, the river has dried up and the people without this valuable resource can die. the citizens gather and begin to debate which is the best solution and if they should go to the Dragon mountain where the river is born and see what the problem is and if it can be solved.

      They decide to go to the village healer, for many of them a witch, called Sheba. This old woman gives them a map and tells them that only seven members of the community should go. But the map has a special peculiarity, it can only be read by its carrier, a boy named Rowan, the protagonist of this book.

      The map, as they travel the road, is presenting messages in the form of poems with mysteries and enigmas that must be deciphered. The first of them tells him that seven will depart, but only one will reach the top of the mountain where the Dragon lives.

      It is a youth novel for all ages, easy to read, with an entertaining narrative, and good description of the characters and the environment where they operate.

      The end is the expected and the protagonist fulfills his role with great success. It is a novel that is read very fast, and as the obstacles go by, the characters show their strengths and weaknesses.

      Its original title is Rowan of Rin, it was written by Emily Rodda in the year of 1993. I read it in epub format, and it was translated into Spanish by Eduardo García Murillo. The illustrations were made by Matt Wilson. The prophecy of the witch Sheba, is the first of a series of five novels that speak of the adventures of Rowan and her people in the Rhine Valley.
