however, we were deceived by this animated character created in 1929, and the reason is partly due to the fact that at that time, in the tables of the iron content of the different foods, THE SPINACH was located well above but ... due to a numerical error.

Many of us sat in front of the television, only to observe the strong sailor, press the container from which the green content that surprisingly was introduced completely into the character's mouth, giving him a human force that allowed him to drag on the ground giant "brutus". and we said: "Yes! ... we should eat spinach to be like POPEYE"

In the year 1870 the German chemist Erich Von Wolf was the first to measure the iron content of SPINACH, but was wrong when putting the comma, so that instead of giving spinach a modest 0.35 milligrams of iron per 100 grams of SPINACH, he ended up placing an amazing 3.5 milligrams of iron per 100 grams of SPINACH (that is, ten times more iron than he actually had).

so from one moment to another the spinach got fictitious ferrous powers that would inspire Elsie to create this famous character that ... deceived us all.
