Continúo con la presentación de mi siguiente caricatura; Caricaturalzheimer Nº 6, la cual finalicé el 15 de noviembre de 2018.

Como ocurre con mucha frecuencia, nuestros pacientes con la Enfermedad de Alzheimer se desubican de lugar. Piensan que su casa no es su casa, o que la casa de otro sí lo es. Y es muy difícil convencerlos de lo contrario.

Con este despiste, generan muchas situaciones cómicas, que todos debemos comprender y tratar con dulzura y serenidad, pues si los contradecimos se molestan y se pueden tornar agresivos.

Lo que hacía con mi mamá era que, cada vez que decía algo así, me acercaba, la abrazaba y me reía a su lado para que ella también riera.

Tenemos que buscar mil fórmulas para comunicarnos con ellos, pues llega un momento en el que no comprenden lo que queremos decirles; ya no razonan, pero sí sienten y les encanta el cariño y el buen trato.

Una táctica que aplico con los Pacientes con Alzheimer cuando están molestos o se empeñan en asegurar algo erróneo, es cambiarles la conversación hacia temas que sé que son de su agrado. Eso hace que al buscar respuesta a lo último que estamos planteando, se les olvide lo que ocasionó el disgusto. Normalmente, funciona.

I continue with the presentation of my next cartoon; Caricaturalzheimer No. 6, which ended on November 15, 2018.

As is so often the case, our Alzheimer's Disease Patients are out of place. They think that their home is not their home, or that someone else's home is. And it is very difficult to convince them otherwise.

With this oversight, they generate many comic situations, which we must all understand and treat with sweetness and serenity, because if we contradict them they will get upset and can become aggressive.

What I did with my mom was that every time she said something like that, I would approach her, hug her and laugh at her side so that she would laugh too.

We have to find a thousand ways to communicate with them, because there comes a time when they do not understand what we want to tell them; They no longer reason, but they do feel and love affection and good treatment.

One tactic that I apply with Alzheimer's Patients when they are upset or are trying to ensure something wrong, is to change the conversation towards topics that I know they like. This means that when looking for an answer to the last thing we are proposing, they forget what caused the displeasure. Normally, it works.
