THE SPRAY FISH, AN INCREDIBLE, FEMALE AND MALE FISH JUMP OUT OF THE WATER TO PUT EGGS

The Sprayer is a small fish that lives in rivers of little flow in South America. The curious thing about this fish is that it puts the eggs out of the water, in the leaves of the trees that are very close, this as a measure of protection against the attack of possible aquatic predators. In mating season both male and female jump out of the water, at the same time to land on a leaf in which the female spawns 8 to 10 eggs each time and the male fertilizes them with his sperm. The jumps will be repeated until the process is concluded, which can reach up to 180 eggs.
Once the laying and fertilization of the eggs has finished, the male from the water sprinkles them (hence the name of PEZ ROCIADOR) and moistens them completely until they hatch, between 36 and 72 hours after being fertilized, afterwards the new individuals fall into the water swimming immediately to hide from predators.
