Steem Walking se Aventura por el Camino de los Españoles, en el Ávila. Caracas, Venezuela
El fin de semana pasado, exactamente el día domingo dos integrantes del grupo Hispanos Steemit Élite se adentraron nuevamente a una excursión @Ricardo993 y @Nabil, en el rol de voluntarios del grupo rescate denominado UTOEV (Unidad Táctica de Operaciones Especiales Vargas) dando la mejor atención de forma prehospitalaria, ante cualquier evento que sucediera, a razón de una caminata conmemorando el natalicio de José Marti (Héroe Nacional Cubano), aunque tenían funciones por realizar, fue una jornada para el disfrute como buenos Steemians.

Sin embargo, lo extraordinario del viaje fue transitar por un camino que antiguamente fue usado por los mismos indígenas, que tenían establecidas poblaciones en la Costa y en el Valle para comunicarse con fines comerciales o de defensa. Luego de la conquista, en la época de la colonia el camino fue escogido por los conquistadores para sus comunicaciones con la Costa y se volvió “el camino real”

Antiguamente este camino era llamado por los indígenas “La culebrilla", es en el año 1589 por decreto del Capitán General de la Provincia de Venezuela don Diego Osorio y Villegas cuando se comenzó las construcciones, finalizando las mismas de manera definitiva el año 1805.

Un dato interesante es que aún se conserva en el camino tramos del empedrado colonial, que comenzó a colocarse en 1763.
Fue escogido por seguir un trazado zigzagueante al estilo europeo que aliviaba las pronunciadas pendientes que se pueden encontrar en el Hermoso Ávila (Waraira Repano).
En la siguiente foto podemos ver parte de la fortificación de "El Salto", a unos 900 metros de Altura.

Contaba con un puente elevadizo que controlaba el tráfico desde Maiquetía a la Cumbre.
En otra foto podemos observar "La Venta Chica", se cuenta que Humboldt en su viaje a Caracas se hospedo allí.

Existen otras fortificaciones que no se pudieron tomar fotos como el famoso "Castillo Negro o el Fortín de la Cumbre" (Donde fue arrestado Alejandro Humboltd) que quedará pendiente para narrarlo una próxima aventura.
