Micro Guía: ¿Cómo minar Bitcoins, Litecoins o cualquier otra cripto moneda? #4/8 (>English Inside<)

En una serie de artículos, te explico lo básico y avanzado sobre la minería de criptomonedas. Equipos, experiencias, costos, ganancias y recomendaciones.

Si bien no es un secreto que para entender el tema necesitamos invertir mucho tiempo en aprendizaje, en una definición simple y personal, la minería de criptomonedas consiste en:

Descubrir nuevos bloques dentro de la red de una moneda. Dichos bloques producen como resultado, nuevas monedas. Dicha operación de "descubrir" es aprovechada por la red, para imprimir y verificar las transacciones dentro de la red. Son los mineros quienes confirman y verifican las transacciones de la red.

El conocer a cabalidad el proceso de minería, puede darnos ideas más claras de lo que estamos haciendo. Si minamos una moneda en especial, estaremos contribuyendo con su desarrollo.

Mucho poder de minado, muchos problemas.

En mi experiencia los equipos que poseen un alto poder de minado, tienden a exigir condiciones de uso mucho más delicadas. Dichos equipos pueden presentar fallas y daños en menor tiempo. Es por eso que recomiendo elegir equipos que no sobrepasen los valores "normales". Sólo así puedes garantizar la vida útil de un equipo por mucho más tiempo. Hago mucho hincapié en este punto ya que, del tiempo que un equipo se mantenga minando, dependerá que puedas recuperar tu inversión y tomar una ganancia.
Cabe entonces la pregunta:

• ¿Cómo saber si un equipo posee un poder de minado excesivo?. La respuesta sería: si un equipo tiene un ROI muy bajo (menor a 1.5 meses), estamos hablando de un equipo con poder de minado excesivo y de mucho riesgo.

Si observamos la tabla de la entrega anterior, observaremos las ganancias por mes para cada equipo presentado. Para calcular el ROI, simplemente hacemos uso de la siguiente fórmula:

ROI = Costo total del equipo / Ganancia por mes
El ROI, en este caso, viene dado en tiempo y específicamente en meses. Si calculamos el ROI de los dos primeros equipos tenemos:

Calcular ganancias de manera rápida y en resumen.

Para calcular cuanto produce un equipo de minado, en términos de moneda real o "virtual", podemos hacer uso de el calculador de ganancias de Cryptocompare.com. Al acceder a su página web veremos la imagen:

Os explico:

1: Monedas a elegir.	2: Logo de la Moneda	3: Ganancia según consumo eléctrico.	4: Ganancia por mes.
5: Precio actual de la moneda.	6: Poder de minado. Seleccionable en varias unidades.	7: Consumo de potencia.	8: Consumo eléctrico. Kilowatts x hora.
9: Ganancias por dia, semana, mes y año.	10: Minado por dia, semana, mes y año.	11: Costos eléctricos por dia, semana, mes y año.

Notas:

• El consumo de potencia por equipo, es dado por el fabricante.
• El consumo eléctrico, según tu país, debes investigarlo por internet u observar un recibo de luz.
• Es imperativo que el consumo eléctrico en tu país esté por debajo de los 0.1$ kWh, de lo contrario, puedes perder dinero.

Mis notas sobre los equipos Antminer.

A continuación una tabla comparativa de los equipos que he probado, instalado y mantenido hasta el día de hoy con algunas notas importantes.

Equipo - Poder de minado	Tiempo de uso	Nota
Antminer T9 - 11,500 GH/s	6 meses contínuos.	Sin fallas. Solo requiere una temperatura ambiente de al menos 21 grados. Trabaja estable.
Antminer L3+ - 504 MH/s	2.5 meses contínuos.	2 tarjetas quemadas1 (el equipo posee 4) luego de 1.5 meses de uso. Es un equipo de un poder alto que exige alta refrigeración.

1: Bitmain cubre una garantía de 180 días a partir de la liberación del equipo desde China.

Nota especial sobre el Antminer D3: Poseo la orden para un equipo pero, aún no empieza a minar. Este equipo posee un alto poder de minado (mucho más alto que el promedio de equipos actuales). Cuando lo adquirí, el ROI era de 28 días. El día de hoy el ROI es de 4.1 meses.

Al liberar un alto poder de minado en una red, la dificultad dispara y los valores de rendimiento, disminuyen.

Although it is not a secret that in order to understand this subject we need to invest a lot of time in learning, in a simple and very personal definition, the crypto mining consists of:

Discover new blocks within the network of a currency. These blocks result in new coins (reward). This "discover" operation is used by the network to print and verify transactions within the network. It is the miners who confirm and verify the transactions within the network.

By knowing the mining process, we get clearer ideas of what we are doing. If we mine a particular currency, we will be contributing to its development.

A lot of mining power, a lot of problems.

In my experience, equipments that possess a high mining power tend to demand much more delicate conditions of use. Such equipment can present faults and damages in less time. That's why I recommend choosing equipment that does not exceed "normal" values. This is the only way to ensure the life of a miner for much longer. I put a lot of emphasis on this point because from the duty life cicle of a miner, will depend on you being able to recover your investment and make a profit.
This question comes ahead:

• How to know if a equipment has excessive mining power? The answer would be: if a device has a very low ROI (less than 1.5 months), we are talking about a device with excessive mining power and a lot of risk involved.

If we look at the table within the previous post, we will see the earnings per month for each device. To calculate the ROI, we simply use the following formula:

ROI = Total Equipment Cost / Monthly Earnings
The ROI, in this case, is given by time and specifically in months. If we calculate the ROI of the first two equipments we have:

1: Currencies to choose.	2: Currency Logo	3: Power consumption vs. profit %.	4: Profit per month.
5: Current price of the coin.	6: Mining power. Selectable in several units.	7: Miner power consumption.	8: Power consumption. Kilowatts x hour.
9: Earnings per day, week, month and year.	10: Mined by day, week, month and year.	11: Electrical costs by day, week, month and year.

Notes:

• The power consumption per equipment, is given by the manufacturer.
• To get the electricity consumption, according to your country, you must investigate it by Internet or take a closer look to an electricity bill.
• It is imperative that the electricity consumption in your country is below 0.1$ kWh, otherwise you can lose money.

My notes about the Antminers.

Below is a comparative table of the equipment that I have tested, installed and maintained until this day with some important notes.

Equipment - Mining power	Use time	Note
Antminer T9 - 11,500 GH/s	6 months non stop.	Flawless. It only requires an ambient temperature of at least 21 degrees. Work stable.
Antminer L3+ - 504 MH/s	2.5 months non stop.	2 cards burned 1 (each miner owns 4) after 1.5 months of use. It is a high mining power equipment that requires high refrigeration.

1: Bitmain covers a warranty of 180 days from the release of the equipment from China.

**Special Note on Antminer D3 **: I have the order for a D3 but, it has not started to mine yet. This equipment has a high mining power (much higher than the average of current equipments). When I purchased it, the ROI was 28 days. Today the ROI is 4.1 months.

By releasing a high mining power into a network, the difficulty triggers and the performance values ​​decrease.
