Hemos decidido parar porque es la única manera de vencerlo. Hay que conseguir que se frene la curva de contagio y estoy convencido que lo vamos a alcanzar.

Nos costará sufrimiento porque habrá muchos despidos pero la realidad es que serán solo temporales. Si hacemos las cosas bien, frenaremos el contagio radicalmente. No hay que rendirse.

En este mes de reclusión que nos espera podemos aprovechar para desarrollar todas esas aficiones que, por falta de tiempo, no hemos podido hacer antes. En mi caso, la pintura siempre ha sido una de mis aficiones. Desde hace años he dejado los pinceles aparcados. Ahora es un buen momento para retomar esta afición.

En noviembre pasado estuvimos en Florencia, una ciudad maravillosa llena de museos y palacios que visitar. Fue la cuna del Renacimiento, con los Medici. Allí se volvió a valorar los antiguos cánones clásicos y toda su enorme belleza y sabiduría.

Pintar en el iPad tiene una doble ventaja: es limpio y se pueden hacer correcciones. Ayer, para los dibujos, decidí dar un paso mas y copiar desde una fotografía, no desde un dibujo.
También opté por cambiar de motivo, puesto que ahora empiezo a desenvolverme con un poco más de facilidad.

Hice esta fotografía desde el Palacio Vecchio. Cuando estábamos en uno de sus salones, a través de una ventana se veían los tejados de Florencia y al fondo el Campanile y también la Cúpula del Duomo.

Fundamento increíble. Una visión impresionante, casi de sueño. En este momento, comprobéencontré que era mas bonito lo que se veía fuera que lo que estaba dentro del palacio.

Campanile de la Catedral de Santa Maria de Fiore son los dos edificios mas sobresalientes que caracterizan a la ciudad de Florencia. El perfil de ambos edificios marca la silueta de la ciudad, su signo de identidad.

Modifiqué la fotografía para dejarla encuadrada y luego la viré a blanco y negro. Me gustó el resultado.

Sobre esta toma, como patrón, comencé a hacer este dibujo. En un momento dado, antes de terminar de pintar las siluetas, empecé a darles color y me llevé una sorpresa.

El aspecto inacabado me gustó. Preferí dejarlo así, sin terminar, solo insinuado, cómo hacía Miguel Angel con sus esculturas.Me gusta este estilo. Creo que insistiré en este inacabado en los próximos días.

Ánimate, no debe decaer la esperanza. Hay que resistir!

Mientras tanto, creo que es conveniente llevar una rutina y ocupar el tiempo en todas aquellas cosas que hemos tenido aparcadas hasta ahora.

Recuperemos nuestras aficiones olvidadas! Ahora es el momento de ponernos al día.

Quizás de este encierro salgamos reformados y como una crisálida nos convirtamos en una bella mariposa.

We have decided to stop because it is the only way to beat it.
We have to get the contagion curve to stop and I am convinced that we are going to do it.

It will cost us suffering because there will be many layoffs but the reality is that they will only be temporary. If we do things right, we will stop contagion radically. Do not give up.

In this month of confinement that awaits us, we can take advantage to develop all those hobbies that, due to lack of time, we have not been able to do before. In my case, painting has always been one of my hobbies. For years I have left brushes parked. Now is a good time to resume this hobby.

Last November we were in Florence, a wonderful city full of museums and palaces to visit. It was the cradle of the Renaissance, with the Medici. There the old classical canons and all their enormous beauty and wisdom were valued again.

Painting on the iPad has a double advantage: it is clean and corrections can be made. Yesterday, for the drawings, I decided to go one step further and copy from a photograph, not from a drawing.
I also chose to change my reason, since now I begin to develop with a little more ease.

I took this picture from the Vecchio Palace. When we were in one of its rooms, through a window you could see the roofs of Florence and in the background the Campanile and also the Dome of the Duomo.

Incredible foundation. An impressive vision, almost of dream. At this moment, I found that what was seen outside was more beautiful than what was inside the palace.

I modified the photograph to frame it and then turned it to black and white. I liked the result.

On this shot, as a pattern, I began to make this drawing. At one point, before I finished painting the silhouettes, I started to color them and was in for a surprise.

I liked the unfinished look. I preferred to leave it like that, unfinished, just hinted, how Miguel Angel did with his sculptures. I like this style. I think I will insist on this unfinished in the coming days.

Courage should not lower your spirits. We must resist!

In the meantime, I think it is convenient to keep a routine and spend time on all those things that we have had parked so far.

Let's get our forgotten hobbies back! Now is the time to catch up.

Perhaps we will come out of this confinement reformed and like a chrysalis we will become a beautiful butterfly.
