THE ART OF BEING NEGATIVE - "Positive" and "Negative" Dont Mean What You Think
“The syntactical nature of reality, the real secret of magic, is that the world is made of words. And if you know the words that the world is made of, you can make of it whatever you wish.”
~ Terence McKenna
If there is one thing I have learned over my years of delving into the mysteries, it is that we are limited or liberated by the use of language. In the case of Positive and Negative, we have been led away from understanding important truths on the way various energies work in Natural Law.
"Positive and Negative" in popular language have become synonym for "good and bad" but these are scientific words with objective meanings. They are not subjective. Our emotional ties to these words help blind us from seeing Natural Law principle in nearly every aspect of reality.
In the case of the battery, based on natural scientific laws, you can see we have a positive and a negative pole. Each pole must be equal in order to function properly, to complete a healthy circuit.
Negative is the RECEIVER and Positive is the TRANSMITTER.
Another way to see is to understand the etymology of the words. Positive derives from "positus", meaning to "put" or simply to position. Negative derives from "negativus", meaning "take away" or simply to negate.
Now think of how many times you have heard people say things like "I want to get rid of these negative thoughts". The problem is that there is no such thing as a negative thought. All thoughts are positive, because to have any thought, is to have thought positioned. The only negative thought is no thought at all.
People will say that the object of Zen Buddhism is to achieve a state of pure positivity, but the object is to remove all thought and become a pure receiver. This makes meditation the most negative thing we can do.
Talking is positive - listening is negative
Teaching is positive - learning is negative
Giving is positive - receiving is negative
Are you seeing it yet?
Usually, when we want to describe things in meta-reality, we need to first understand what the words mean in physical reality, as to create analogies that make sense. In the ways that we currently use positive and negative to describe good and bad, we have gotten it all wrong. And what results after a long time of speaking like this, is an ignorance of Natural Laws and unnatural compulsion toward one side, and not the useful one.
The idea is, to understand that before you can have the things you want, whether they are feelings, circumstances, or even material, you must first achieve a negative state. The thing is, though, that negative states dont feel as good as positive states. For instance, it feels better to talk your ass off than to listen right? They say it is better to give than to receive. And learning lessons doesnt feel nearly as good as giving them.
Imagine that you are a battery. In order to activate the positive pole, you must first enter a negative state. Going to the gym and busting your ass doesnt feel too good, but it will get those results that you call positive. In photography, the negative comes before the finished picture.
We have become a culture obsessed with one side of the pole, ignorant of Natural Law, and thus, inefective at exerting our will.
Learn to see the concepts of the words you are speaking. Understand that words change over time, and overwhelmingly for the worst. They eventually become cages, imprisoning us from phonetic and magical roots. Before spelling, came the spell, and before cursive, came the curse.
"The very language about magic seems to be talking as much about writing or art as it is about supernatural events. A grimmoir for example, the book of spells is simply a fancy way of saying grammar. Indeed, to cast a spell, is simply to spell, to manipulate words, to change people's consciousness."
~ Alan Moore
Ever wonder why in the world of electronics, there are male and female connectors? It is based on pure natural science. And before anything can have experience, energy, or LIFE, it must first achieve a negative state.
As I wrote the other day in this...
Women are the Negative pole of the Male/Female polarity, and unless we learn to recognize our natural gifts, we will never reach our potential. We must stop referring to one side of our energetical reality as bad. Negative is not meant to mean that which is unpleasant or bad. It is only by that which is negative that we may POSition ourselves and situations to our own will.
You can create any reality you want, but you must first make negative space.
Now go out there and be negative!
With love,
Doc

actually positive and negative does not mean good or bad always, for example in medicine test is positive when someone has cancer and that's bad while negative would be more convenient. and second in electricity negative is not receiver it's transmitter. because in the wire there are movement of free electrons (electrons are negative), and they move from negative to positive. in science direction of electricity is from positive to negative but because when they discovered electricity they did not know what was moving there, so no one bothered to change that.
than how does that comes
in physics direction of electricity is related to movement of positive charge. and because positive charge does not exists (only exists negative charge which is electron and positive charge is related to absence of negative charge aka electrons) so when electrons go from negative pole to positive, positive charge goes oppositely. thats why physicians say that electricity moves from positive to negative while electrons move from negative to positive. i am sorry if i was not clear enough. but you can watch this video
I know I love negative ions. Thanks for that mind-bending post. I'm still wondering what words the world is made up of and how Terence McKenna figured it out?
my opinion is that the words are the names/symbols for things that are perceivable by our senses so the mind can make sense of it. if you don't have a word for it is of no use so you can't create with it...
Fabulous post. Makes a lot of sense but definitely not the way I'd really considered "negative" and "positive" to work before.
brilliant!
a really useful concept. never thought about it that way, but it explains a lot of feelings.
thank you :)
