Can positivity be too much?
For the past several months I have noticed a misconception among several of my Facebook friends. It's one where by which, good people are being thrown shade at for consistently posting positive things. It's pretty annoying whenever these ill-spirited individuals (those throwing the shade) get on social media and pollute neutral platforms with ignorance, it's unnecessary and only supports the truth that you are far from maturity. I do understand that too much of one thing may saturate the mood of things and ultimately is good for nothing, but in a world such as the one we live in today; plagued with poverty, corrupted by hate, mislead by confusion and greed, I could go on and on, war, racism, rape, genocide, my neighbour’s singing (you get the gist). Now isn't it somewhat of a rhetorical question, can positivity be too much?
To be positive means that you are hopeful on par with your actions as a reflection of that light. To be positive means that you have the strength within because in these times the odds will be against you. Summiting a mountain is no easy endeavour as is seeing the good in unfavourable circumstances yet still striving to persevere regardless. These social media platforms... well the internet on a whole has the potential to propel humanity into a golden era one where knowledge can be easily attained but on the downside, it possesses the potential to bring about the contrary which is a catastrophe i'm sure that no one really wants. So it is up to us to set the balance and put the ego in it's place. One can never be too positive, one can never be too healthy, and one can never be too humble. So if you are a part of this insane and selfish community for your own good and a less miserable future, come to terms with yourself, read a book learn an instrument, a new skill develop a passion so that idleness does not find you.
