Diving Into the Code - 10 Intentions for a Better World

The book I'm currently reading - Get What You Want by Tony Burroughs

along with my friends @larrymorrison @ogc and @happymoneyman as part of our @loaclub is full of many interesting and powerful spiritual principles and techniques for living a better life.

One of the main themes in the book is about setting intentions rather than setting goals. Tony teaches that it's not just setting an intention, using a particular spiritual mindset that ensures the best possible outcome.

So he encourages people to state an intention in the present and positive and end it with the phrase "I Intend this now for the highest and best good of the universe, myself and everyone everywhere." This makes so much sense to me because so often in life our actions and interactions have an effect on others and how we are behaving subconsciously affects them too. So if we're too focused on achieving our goal / intention and not being fully respectful or at least neutral towards others, then we can possibly do them harm. And if we do then getting what we want can still be a fail, because it's never ok to try to meet our own needs at the expense of others.

Beyond that, what really moves me is the book presents a wonderful moral and spiritual frame-work called the Code.
It's a group of 10 Intention to be read daily. I've been doing it for the last four or five days as a part of my morning routine and feeling more positive each time. I shared it with the other members of the group and I'm sharing it here now, in hopes that a few other Steemians will appreciate it and use it, maybe even print it out and read it daily like I've been doing.

Here is the Code - 10 Intentions for a Better World

1st Intent - Support Life
I refrain from opposing or harming anyone. I allow others to have their own experiences. I see life in all things and honor it as if it were my own. I support life.

2nd Intent - Seek Truth
I follow my inner compass and discard any beliefs that are no longer serving me. I go to the Source. I seek truth.

3rd Intent - Set Your Course
I being the creative process. I give direction to my life. I set my course

4th Intent - Simplify
I let go so there is room for something better to come in. I intend that I am guided, guarded, protected, and lined up with the Highest Good at all times. I trust and remain open to receive from both expected and unexpected sources. I simplify.

5th Intent - Stay Positive
I see good, say good and do good. I accept the gifts from all my experiences. I am living in grace and gratitude. I stay positive.

6th Intent - Synchronize
After intending and surrendering, I take action by following the opportunities that are presented to me. I am in the flow where Great Mystery and Miracles abide, fulfilling my desires and doing what I came here to do. I synchronize.

7th Intent - Serve Others
I practice love in action. I always have enough to spare and enough to share. I am available to help those who need it. I serve others.

8th Intent - Shine Your Light
I am a Magnificent Being, awakening to my Highest Potential. I express myself with joy, smiling easily, and laughing often. I shine my light.

9th Intent - Share Your Vision
I create my ideal world by envisioning it and telling others about it. I share my vision.

10th Intent - Synergize
I see Humanity as One. I enjoy gathering with light-hearted people regularly. When we come together, we set the stage for Great Oneness to reveal itself. We synergize.

(to have The Code work in your life, say it once a day)

This is very cool. I especially like the focus on helping other people, or at the very least being aware of what effects your actions will have on others. I feel like a lot of the "get what you want" recipes ignore that or even encourage the opposite.

Speaking of which, I just found out about this @steembasicincome thing, so I enrolled you for 25 shares to try it out!

That's aweomse Matt, thanks so much man!

I agree completely. It feels so much better thinking about things this way - that the more I accomplish the more my success benefits others. It's really helped me change my attitude in a positive way and pay more attention to how I'm interacting with people; especially in small or seemingly superficial ways. It all has an effect on some level, so trying to keep it positive as much as humanly possible.

It’s a wander full....good job

Thank you for sharing this!!!! While I listened to the audiobook, it is nice to see everything written out. It will help me practice :) Thank you thank you!
