There is no point dwelling on weaknesses, we must concentrate on our strengths & I think this is where a lot of parents go wrong raising children, they worry about their children's weaknesses which is natural but they need take no action whatsoever, they would be far better off digging for the skills because that's where their kids success will be found.
I'm rubbish at Basketball but I could still teach Michael Jordan a thing or two (just not about basketball) :)

You are right, Parents believe they need to fight weakness in their children which make them focus on it and forget their strength. The children grow older learnt only to fight weakness and the loop continues. The important detail is not fight neither ignoring weaknesses but accepting them. Acceptance brings balance and confidence. Michael Jordan needs to meet with you in order not to miss the two things :)
