RE: A pitch for splinterlands... The first super-expensive card.

First, a reminder: while I am commenting from the Splinterlands account, I'm just one person. I don't ever speak for the whole team.

Okay. Hi!
I see where you're getting. We kinda have something available like this already (Mystery Potions). This offers a very rare card (though currently valued higher than your suggested $1000). And this makes some people literally freak out. 🤣 Like, it's not handled well.

And... it'd be pretty hard to 'determine' what a card value would/could/should be. That's literally up to every single player and what they are willing to buy or sell at.

For example, while cards are still being generated the value is (often) less than it could potentially end up being (because of supply and demand). And for the same reason (supply and demand) the values shoot up when things are FIRST released... but even out.

But... again, I do see the appeal of having even RARER cards... it'd simply be a matter of appeasing those who DON'T get one from screaming "SCAM!" cause they unhappy about their luck. 😉

It's quite the delicate balance: staying fair and true to the numbers. I think our team of devs works very hard at doing that.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I am well aware of PJ and everything splinterlands... I think winning a mystery potion lottery (which a small percentage partake in) and introducing controversially powerful cards that have high value vs. having the regular game cards in super-rare form is a no brainer. The cards are not more powerful, they just are a different colour and perhaps hold a different DEC bonus.

I love the game, I love the way it is at the moment, I appreciate the struggles of trying to keep everyone happy and the risk of making people mad.... but I do think that the upside on this one greatly outweighs the downside.
