Jets place WR Eric Decker on season-ending injured reserve
Decker suffered the injury in the Jets’ only win of the season in Buffalo in the second game. He aggravated it in a loss in Kansas City.
Decker’s loss is significant for an offense that has struggled since it’s 37-point explosion in Buffalo. Ryan Fitzpatrick loses a trusted red-zone weapon and security blanket. Decker had 80 receptions for 1,027 yards and 12 touchdowns, including 10 in the red zone last season.
He was one-half a wide receiver tandem with Brandon Marshall that buoyed the Jets last season.
Decker had nine receptions for 194 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Jets are trying to fill his void with Quincy Enunwa and a bunch of rookies.
The Jets signed cornerback Nick Marshall off the Jaguars practice squad to replace Decker on the 53-man roster.
