SFPL Gameweek 2 Preview: Using My Wildcard!⚽️😅

Usually 66 points is a strong score, but I'm already willing to overhaul my squad using the available wildcard. It's safe to say that I experienced mixed fortunes in Gameweek 1.

My team going into Gameweek 2

Liverpool and Man City picked up from where they left off and I think there is value to be found in clean sheets from these two, especially when their full backs chip in with assists. This is why I have stuck with Robertson, Alexander-Arnold and Zinchenko.

It's a gamble to remove Van Dijk but I've replaced him with Firmino. Hopefully I can rely on his goals and assists if Liverpool concede at the back. It also takes a brave manager to bet against Salah performing, but he's very expensive and my quota of Liverpool players is full.

A trip to Wolves is not easy, but Rashford is budget friendly and full of confidence at the moment. Martial also played as a forward on GW1, grabbing a goal against Chelsea. It earned him 7 points and he is the most transferred 'midfielder' for GW2.

Maitland-Niles is not a natural right-back, but impressed against Newcastle. He will likely be replaced by Bellerin when he returns, but is budget friendly in the meantime. Arsenal kept a clean sheet at Newcastle, so I hope that form will continue when they play at home this weekend.

Elmohamady conceded 4 goals against spurs on GW1 Image Source

Elmohamady recorded an impressive eight assists and twelve clean sheets in the championship last season with Villa. He also scored 114 points in 2014/15 for a Hull City side that finished 16th. I avoided signing him in GW1 against Tottenham, but he's definitely worth a punt against Bournemouth.

I didn't make a terrible start to the season, but big spenders have got off to a flyer. Despite that, a better choice of captain (Sterling) would've still placed me in the top 20. I enter GW2 in 93rd place, but there's plenty time to close the gap.

Here's hoping I fare better after GW2!
