Alexis Sanchez: Arsenal legend blames Gunners for star’s struggles at Manchester United
That is the verdict of former Gunners defender and now pundit, Martin Keown.
Sanchez has hit just one goal in his first 10 games for United and his performances have underwhelmed the Old Trafford faithful so far.
Jose Mourinho recently dropped the Chile international for his side’s FA Cup quarter-final win over Brighton.
Keown has offered to shed some light on why the 29-year-old has been unable to reproduce his best form since making the switch from London.
And the Gunners hero reckons Sanchez is suffering from a different level of treatment at his new club.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: ”I have spoken before about how Sanchez was being overindulged at Arsenal. He added: "I remember watching training once at Arsenal and Sanchez came in on his day off wanting to train.
"I cannot imagine Jose Mourinho would take too well to that.
“Sanchez has all the tools to succeed at Old Trafford. He just needs to get his head down and simplify his game a little bit.
He needs to start higher and wider and threaten defenders around the back as Marcus Rashford does, rather than cutting inside.
"Ultimately, Mourinho has to get the best from all his players.
“He does not have a shortage of quality in this dressing room. He just has to put the jigsaw puzzle together to create the perfect picture."
