PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships - Round 1 (Update)

in #sports8 years ago

Round one of the PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships started today at 8am. A number of players have already finished their first round and we are starting to get an idea of what the leaderboard is going to look like headed into round two tomorrow.

Four-time World Champ Paul McBeth finished his first round on the newly updated and longer W.R. Jackson course with a respectable -8 (60), tied with Eagle McMahon and Devan Owens.

Update: Georgia native Cam Todd just finished his round and is now sitting alone at the top of the leaderboard shooting -9 (59).

Just behind our leaders is defending World Champ Ricky Wysocki, Dustin Keegan and Lance Brown with scores of -7. Wysocki still has one hole left to play.

And behind them are Gregg Barsby, Johne McCray, Jeremy Koling and Peter McBride with -6.

Worlds is shaping up to be a very competitive field. So far, no one has posted a breakout score which means we can expect to see some exciting action in the next round!

I will be posting updates regularly throughout the week and will be on site for the final round on Saturday, so stay tuned for more info and scoring updates!

You can check live scoring on the PDGA's website here.

Unfortunately, from what I've been told, there may not be any live coverage for Worlds this year due to extremely poor reception in the area where  Worlds is being hosted. However, expect to see a lot of great post-production material come out on YouTube over the next few days from Central Coast Disc Golf, Jomez Productions, Prodigy Discs and Smashboxx TV!

Thanks and remember to upvote and follow for more disc golf coverage!
