UEFA Champions League
Apart from being the most successful club when it comes to the UEFA Champions league, winning the title 13th times, Real Madrid made another history winning the 2018 title for the 3rd consecutive time. With this achievement, Madrid has become the only team to repeat the 3 successive wins multiple times. Ajax and Bayern Munich are the other teams that have won the Champions league for 3 consecutive times. Though Madrid lost out of the 2018 Spanish La Liga tile, they were able to capture the Champions league by defeating Liverpool 3-1 in the final. Their latest 3 successes was under Zinedine Zidane as Coach.

The Europa League

Atletico Madrid defeated Olympic Marseille 3-0 to win this year’s Europa league. Goals from French forward Griezmann who was the man of the match, and Gabi the Spanish midfielder ensured that the Atleico lifted the trophy for the 3rd time. It was Atletico’s major trophy since their last major European win in 2012, and the Diego Simone team couldn’t let the opportunity slip pass them.
Lastly the French league continuous to be dominated by Paris Saint German(PSG) as the took over the title win, which was last won by Monaco.
Now the attention is turned to the biggest football fiesta, the World Cup taking place in Russia. The host will take the center stage on the 14th of June, taking on Saudi Arabia in the opening games. It promises to be entertaining. The FIFA World cup is the most viewed sporting event in the world with a record of 3.2 billion viewers, we expect to see that number go up this year. I wish all the team successful outing and happy viewing for the viewers.

Ugh, Soccer. Mucking up the word football for the rest of us :p

Its not soccer its football ;)

I was incredibly glad the US didn't make the world cup so that I didn't have to listen to people pretend to care about soccer :)

I can understand that the culture of football in the US is not as developed as it is in other parts of the world, and that is why you say that people pretend to care. But I see more and more people in the US gaining interested in the sport, and with time they will learn to really love it! :D

I sure hope not, the less soccer, the better.

Sport is life, it really bring life to the lifeless.
Other team are also coming for the trophy next session.

Hi @bestgift. I just voted on your post 15%.

Football reminds me of old and intense loves, because nowhere else, like in the stadium, can anyone love or hate them.

It was an interesting season. Madrid winning the title a third consecutive time was really amazing. Kudos to them.

Interestin sport post. I am getting to love sport now.

Ronaldo once suggested Madrid would be in a better position “if everyone was at my level”. That kind of comment does not go down well but what if he is right?
