This has been going on for centuries. You don't think it used to happen in the Coliseum with the gladiators?
Professional sports are pay to play. Unless everything goes amateur, you'll never be able to separate the two.
Sorry I might be misunderstanding your point but are you saying that Gladiators were professional sports people? And to add to that, are you saying that it is fine to be corrupt because sports turned professional?
Some gladiators were quasi professional in that the lifestyle their owners afforded them (good or bad) was directly related to their abilities and showmanship in the ring.
No, it is not okay to be corrupt. I meant that when you cross any activity with money, a certain amount of corruption will creep in.
