So far this has been by far the most interesting year for the College Football Playoffs. It is possible that only 2 conferences will be in the top 4 instead of 4.  First let me show you the rankings 

If see if the playoff were to happen today Georgia would play Clemson in a semifinal and Alabama would play Notre Dame. Oklahoma and TCU are sitting right outside with hopes to get in.

               The one team that makes this year so different is #3 Notre Dame. Notre Dame has stirred the pot to lead to confusion for these other conferences. Notre Dame is an independent school which means they are not in a conference and the playoff is meant to have 4 conference champions out of the power 5 conferences generally. So that means that at least 2 conferences get let out of the playoff if Notre Dame gets in. Currently 3 conferences are out with 2 SEC teams taking the top 2 spots.
              Notre Dame lost to #1 Georgia by one point which is the best loss in the country by far. Other than that the fighting Irish have destroyed everyone they have played. They not only have some fantastic wins over  great opponents they might have a chance to defeat 3 conference champions therefore defeating 3 conferences for the playoff spot. Notre Dame beat the crap out of #11 USC 49-14who will probably go to the PAC 12 championship game and possibly win the conference. The Big 10 is in trouble because of both Penn State and Ohio State Losing it really hurt their chances and undefeated Wisconsin has one of the worst schedules in the country. Notre Dame destroyed #12 Michigan State who can win the whole Big 10 if they win out the rest of their games. The ACC is next on Notre Dames potential conference killer lists if the Irish beat undefeated #7 Miami this weekend they will have destroyed the ACC if Miami or NC State win their conference.

              Aside from those things I don't think the final four will change except for Georgia and Alabama will play each other in the title game and I think Alabama will win. But I am not sure about that I think Clemson and Notre Dame will win out and Oklahoma will take the number 4 spot in the playoff if the Sec Championship isn't close. But we will see if any of these teams lose it can cause more commotion than we have now.
