Derek Carr's Jersey To Be Retired
On Saturday September 2nd Carr's jersey will be retired during halftime of Fresno State's home opener against Incarnate Word. Derek is excited to have his jersey retired next to his brother David's number 8 jersey. Derek played football for Fresno State from 2009-2013. In his final season at Fresno State Carr threw for 5,082 and 50 touchdowns. He lead the nation in touchdowns, total passing yards, and completions per game. He also lead the Bulldogs to win two Mountain West Conference Championships. Carr now holds 27 school records and 21 Mountain West records.
Carr was drafted to the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2014 draft. Now Derek Carr is one of the best Raider quarterbacks ever and one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Carr was the highest paid NFL player ever, at one point and he lead the Oakland Raiders to their first playoff game in 14 years. Carr will be attending the ceremony at Bulldog Stadium during Fresno State's home opener against Incarnate Word.
