McGregor inks deal with UFC, mega fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. getting closer
Conor McGregor has agreed to the terms laid out by the UFC for a proposed fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and things are looking good.
UFC President Dana White claims he has struck a deal with the "NOTORIOUS" one, who is combat sports' biggest star and current lightweight champ, and now has his sights set on inking a deal for the mega fight with arguably boxing's greatest fighter, Mayweather. The deal is rumoured to be worth upwards of $1 billion.
“I’m not saying the fight will happen, but I’ve got one side done. Now it’s time to work on the other,” White stated.
McGregor went on record confirming the agreement for the proposed bout in a statement to Themaclife.com.
“The first, and most important part of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on,” McGregor added. “Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days.”
No further details were mentioned by either McGregor or White.
“If we can come to a deal with Haymon and Mayweather, the fight’s gonna happen,” White said.
