in #sports7 years ago

In 1948 baseball lost forever to who has been considered the best player of all time. Of course we refer to Babe Ruth, the only player in history that has motivated the construction of a stadium, the Yankee Stadium, with enough capacity to accommodate thousands of fans who wanted to see him every day. This 2018 marks 70 years of his last participation in the world of mortals. More movies have been made from the story of his life and more books and songs have been written than about any other athlete.

The renowned publication Sporting News came to comment that it is the most photographed character of the 20th century and in the last 10 years the prestigious New York Times has published more than 6000 articles in which its name is mentioned, at least once. In addition, in its native house of Baltimore works the Museum of Babe Ruth that forms part of the complex where is the stage of the Orioles and also is considered one of the most important icons of the American popular culture being today as remembered as the 16 August 1948 when he left to not return.

George Hermann Erhardt Ruth born in Baltimore on February 6, 1895, the son of a tavern owner lived a childhood in the street, the bad friendships that led him to steal money, chew tobacco and drink liquor. That disorderly life forced to be admitted to an institution oriented to the education of children with delinquency problems where he remained until he was 18 years old. There he learned to play baseball and signed a contract to work in the professional with his city team, the Baltimore Orioles.

He was an excellent pitcher, but the best hitter considered the most forceful that baseball has known in his first century of history being the first to reach 60 homers in a Major League season. Helped to build the legend of the personal hero to the central attention of the public in the players and not in the teams. At the end of 2000 a group of historians and sports journalists were selected by the Associated Press news agency to choose the "Millennium Athlete" and the result favored Babe Ruth over figures of the level of Muhammad Ali and Michael Jordan. This is the greatest player of all time that deserves great recognition when it turns 70 years of his physical disappearance.

I hope these brief lines have been to your liking and that soon we can read again. See you soon!!!
