Manchester city goalless draw against Southampton

It wasn't actually the best results everyone expected in the match between Manchester city and Southampton with both teams playing out a goalless draw in the Etihad stadium.

The home team were the possessive side throughout the game but failed to find the net after 90 minutes.

This is the second time pep guadiola's men will be dropping point in the league after losing their opener against Tottenham then played a goalless draw with the saints.

After their dramatic performance in their UEFA Champions League victory in midweek against Leipzig they couldn't utilize that against Southampton as they were forced to a draw.

The away side have now drawn four Premier League games in a row for the first time since 2002.

It wasn't a good start for Pep Guardiola’s men in the second half, consistently losing ball possession in dangerous areas. Their biggest scare of the match came on the hour mark when VAR review overturned a red card and penalty for Kyle Walker, after the defender seemed to have bundled over Adam Armstrong in the penalty area.

Southampton are still without a win this season after five games but will be delighted with a well-deserved results against Manchester city in the Etihad away from home.
